‘Crime Thriller’ is not a genre I tend to read, but this is the second of Aymar’s books that I have read, and his talent is on full display in this story. The tight plot, and brisk pace draws you into a bloody world populated by people with complicated backstories and motivations. Reader will feel connected with the fears and hopes of both the good and the bad. Heroism is an opaque concept when you’re dealing with the seductive logic of evil on full display. This book is not for the feint of heart, but it is not without its points of lightheartedness and tender moments.
